07-23-2019 – Pope Francis named the Most Reverend Mark E. Brennan, formerly Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, as the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.  He was installed on August 22, 2019.

Bishop Brennan was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington on May 15, 1976 by the then-Archbishop William W. Baum.

12-22-25 – Bishop Mark Brennan has made public the following appointment:
Father Rayappa Kurakula is appointed pastor of St. Matthew Parish in Ravenswood and Sacred Heart Mission in Point Pleasant, effective November 26, 2025. His place of residence is not affected by this assignment.

11-11-24 – Bishop Mark Brennan has made public the following appointment:
Father Rayappa Kurakula is appointed administrator of St. Matthew Parish in Ravenswood and Sacred Heart Mission in Point Pleasant with residence at the parish rectory, effective November 29, 2024.
