Pope Leo XIV
Intention for the Month of May: That everyone might have food. Let us pray that everyone, from large producers to small consumers, be committed to avoid wasting food and to ensure that everyone have access to quality food.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax:From the beginning of my pontificate, I have thought about a journey in Africa. I thank
the Lord for granting me the opportunity to undertake it, as Shepherd, in order to encounter and encourage the people of God, as well as to offer a message of Peace at a time in history marked by wars and serious and frequent violations of international law.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: We thank the Lord for families who, despite difficulties and challenges, live “the
spirituality of family love made up of thousands of small but real gestures”.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: Let us ask for the grace of a Lent that leads us to greater attentiveness to God and to the least among us. Let us ask for the strength that comes from the type of fasting that also extends to our use of language, so that hurtful words may diminish and give way to a greater space for the voice of others. Let us strive to make our communities places where the cry of those who suffer finds welcome, and listening opens paths towards liberation.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: Praying with Scripture opens the door for an intimate relationship with God who through these sacred writings invites us into conversation with Him. I encourage you to read and contemplate the inspired word of God daily. May the Word of God nourish our hearts and minds and lead us to the fullness of life.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: We are all lives on a journey, to whom God continues to inspire His dreams through prophets of yesterday and of today, to free humanity from ancient and new forms of slavery, involving young and old, poor and rich, men and women, saints and sinners in the works of His mercy and in the wonders of His justice. The Lord makes no noise, yet His Kingdom sprouts and grows in every corner of the world.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: I encourage you to join my World Prayer Network, which unites diverse cultures, languages, and charisms in the common mission. I especially invite young people to take part, so that they may form the next generation of intercessors for the needs of the whole world.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: At the dawn of the new year, the Liturgy reminds us that for each of us, every day can be the beginning of a new life, thanks to God’s generous love, his mercy and the response of our freedom.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: In the Nativity scene, popular imagination has often inserted many figures drawn from daily life, populating the space around the grotto. They remind us that all our activities, all our daily occupations acquire their full meaning within God’s plan, which has its center in Jesus.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: Peace exists; it wants to dwell within us. Peace has the gentle power to enlighten and expand our understanding; it resists and overcomes violence. Peace is a breath of the eternal: while to evil we cry out “Enough,” to peace we whisper “Forever.” Into this horizon the Risen One has led us.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifax: I raise my gratitude to the Lord for having shared these days with you, as I carry your sufferings and hopes in my heart. Let us strive ahead together. Let us hope to involve the entire Middle East in this spirit of fraternity and commitment to peace, including those who currently consider themselves
enemies. May God bless Lebanon, the Middle East, and all humanity.
